Tooth Bonding

How does tooth bonding help?

Tooth bonding is the art of repairing chips and other cosmetic dental issues by applying a hardening resin and reshaping the tooth. Bonding is a simple, pain-free procedure that usually does not require numbing the tooth. To prepare the tooth, we first etch its surface with a liquid or gel to roughen it and help the bonding material adhere to it. Next, we apply an adhesive material to the tooth followed by a tooth-colored resin. We then shape and sculpt the bonding material to look like your original natural tooth, and finish by using an ultraviolet light to harden the material.

In-office Tooth Bonding repairs smiles

An easy example of tooth bonding would be to repair a chipped front tooth. After the bonding process, the tooth would once again appear whole and without a chip or any issue.
